FAQ's
To ensure quality of delivery, we limit the number of cakes that need to be produced each weekend. This ensures that each client receives Deon’s individual attention and creativity on their cake. Typically, the months of September through to February are what we term “the wedding season” and book up very quickly. If your big day is planned during this period, we recommend that you give us at least 6 to 8 months notice.
How much do your wedding cakes cost?
Every cake we make is unique and special and designed to your individual needs. The following factors will influence the price of your wedding cake:
Design of the cake
Number of tiers
Size of the cake (number of servings required)
Amount of detail on the cake
It is therefore recommended that you meet with us so that we can jointly design your dream cake according to your affordability.
Do you deliver?
We do delivery and set up of wedding cakes within the Johannesburg and surrounding areas at a nominal additional cost.
What is a dummy cake?
A dummy cake is made from Styrofoam and is decorated the same as a normal cake. Dummy cakes are used to create the illusion of a large cake without there being an excess of cake in terms of the servings required.
What is your payment policy?
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure your booking. The balance is payable when you collect your cakes. Balance payments for wedding cakes that are being delivered is payable three days prior to the event.
What are your operating hours?
We are open Mondays to Fridays from 08:30 to 17:00 and on Saturdays from 08:30 to 13:00. We prefer that you set up an appointment to meet with us (especially on Saturdays) so that we can give our 100% dedication and attention to satisfying your needs.

Yes we do. Classes are on Monday mornings from 09:00 to 12:00 and Monday evenings from 18:00 to 21:00. For Class schedules refer to the Sugar Art Academy page under Info.
